Meet Our New Board Members
At the end of 2024, we welcomed three new board members Matt Stevens, Kai Steuer, and Jane Clement.
Each brings unique expertise and a shared passion for advancing the Mill’s mission to foster creativity, education, and community connection.
“I’m inspired by Donkey Mill’s vision for the future—its role in fostering creativity, education, and connection—and I am honored to contribute to that growth. Being part of this evolving mission excites me, and I see immense potential for Donkey Mill to continue expanding its impact.” – Matt Stevens
Together with Matt, Kai, and Jane, the board continues to strengthen its commitment to enriching the community through art and culture.

Mahalo Doug Hickey!
The Mill staff and board would also like to express our sincere thanks to Doug Hickey for his four years of service as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Doug’s consistent financial stewardship, generosity and dedication contributed greatly to the Donkey Mill’s growth. During his tenure, Doug provided stability during the Executive Director transition years and championed a retirement plan with company match for Donkey Mill employees. Mahalo nui loa for all you’ve done to shape the future of the Mill!
Going above and beyond, Doug also more than doubled his ‘ohana’s annual giving during his service, graciously donating more than $50,000 over the years! So it is with great pleasure we proudly welcome the Hickey’s to the Donkey Mill’s Legacy Giving Circle.
Together Doug and his wife Kate own Sunshower Farms, not far from the Donkey Mill in Holualoa. Doug also manages his family’s foundation, while Kate is a Wedding and special events planner.
Although no longer a Board member, Doug plans to continue as an active Mill member, take classes, and serve on the finance committee as a community advisor.
Mahalo nui loa for all you’ve done to shape the future of the Mill with us and for us, Doug.
