Description: This acrylic landscape painting class welcomes artists of all experience levels to explore drawing and painting techniques that capture the beauty of the Big Island. With a focus on key elements such as composition, value, and color, students will receive guided instruction and individualized feedback to create and complete a 14” x 11” landscape painting. The class provides an engaging and supportive environment for those eager to learn or enhance their landscape art skills.

Level: Beginner, Ages 16+

Supply Fee Includes:

  • Tabletop easel
  • Three square straight-edge brushes (large, medium, and detail)
  • Palette knife
  • Paper towels
  • Disposable palette (pad of palette papers)
  • 11” x 14” canvas
  • Acrylic paint set, including:
  • Titanium White
  • Ivory Black
  • Prussian Blue
  • Yellow Light Hansa
  • Sap Green
  • Cadmium Red
  • Raw Umber
  • Alizarin Crimson

Students Should Bring:

  • Sketchbook
  • Apron
  • Water bottle, snack, and lunch

About the Artist: Terry Field, a seasoned artist with over three decades in Hawaii, finds inspiration in the islands' vibrant landscapes. Her work spans floral studies, botanicals, seascapes, landscapes, and shells—each piece reflecting nature's harmonious rhythms. With a BFA in Fine Arts and a Master's in Education, Terry combines her artistic expertise with her passion for teaching. Over the past year, she has been helping students develop their painting skills and discover their creative potential.
