Description: Join us at the Mill as we celebrate the opening of the Hawaiʻi Triennial’s inaugural Kona exhibition venue of ALOHA NŌ. Meet artists Sonya Kelliher-Combs and Citra Sasmita and HT25 curators Wassan Al-Khudhairi and Noelle M.K.Y. Kahanu who will share about the exhibited works and theme of ALOHA NŌ. The reception begins at 5:00pm with opening protocols and program at 6:00pm.
Light pūpū will be served with a no-host bar. This event is free and open to the public. We encourage registration for this event although it is not required.
Curated by Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Binna Choi, and Noelle M.K.Y. Kahanu, HT25 considers local-global dialogues through a Hawai‘i- and Pacific-focused lens. Entitled ALOHA NŌ this exhibition challenges commonly held notions of aloha, reclaims it as an active cultural practice, and situates it as a transformative power that is collectively enacted through contemporary art.
Find information about HT25 can be found at hawaiicontemporary.org and in the HT25 Guidebook.
