Description: This workshop will cover a selection of glazing processes including production style pottery glazing, how to glaze larger work, and glaze decoration techniques, studio procedures regarding glaze like clean up, and the different types of firing process offered at the Mill. Students will be provided with a bisqued item for practice and are encouraged to bring more bisque items to practice their newfound skills.
Level: Beginner, Ages 16+
Please note: Registration for this class will close on Saturday, October 25 at midnight.
Supply Fee Includes:
- An assortment of bisque ware for tests, glazes, and underglazes
Students should bring:
- Sketchbook & pen or pencil
- Bisque ware to be glazed
- A potluck dish or personal snack
About the Artist: A California-born artist, Sean Tessandori discovered his passion for clay in high school and continued to study ceramics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He earned a BA in Studio Arts with a focus on ceramics from Humboldt State University in 2017. Sean is a multidisciplinary creative with expertise in kiln repair, technology navigation, metalsmithing, and 3D printmaking—and he even dreams of building his own cabin in the near future.
