Mahalo nui loa to everyone who helped make Cool Fusion such a memorable festival. From delicious noodles and live music to hands-on art activities and our one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic bowls, the festival was a wonderful celebration or this community.

A heartfelt mahalo to the dedicated team behind the scenes and to every volunteer, artist, maker, musician, and community member who helped bring the day together. We’re so grateful for all of you!

The Artists

To the many artists who helped create these one-of-a-kind bowls, mahalo nui loa. Special thanks to Sean Tessandori for coordinating the production team and to all of the throwers and glazers who spent months preparing for this event.

The Bowls

Each bowl was carefully hand-thrown and shaped specifically for Cool Fusion, then, through glazing, artists brought their own creative touch to the surface of the clay. We are deeply grateful for the care and craftsmanship that went into every bowl.

The Stage

Our campus was filled with incredible live music thanks to talented local musicians Luke Beling and Huaka’i along with a special and inspiring performance by Kona Dance and Performing Arts.

The Volunteers

This festival wouldn’t have been possible without the many volunteers who arrived early, stayed late, and gave their time so generously. From welcoming guests to keeping things moving smoothly across the Mill campus, volunteers were there with helping hands, big smiles, and a wonderful spirit of aloha.

Mahalo nui loa for your time, energy, and dedication to Donkey Mill. We’re so grateful for all the ways you helped make this day such a success.

The Food

This year, in collaboration with the students from the Kealakehe High School Culinary Department, we served the cold-noodle dish-of-the-day: hiyashi somen.

Eating hiyashi somen has been practiced for centuries and it is one of the most beloved and iconic dishes enjoyed during the hot summer months. This special version brings a bright island twist to the classic recipe, infusing traditional Japanese umami with the vibrant, sun-kissed aroma of fresh, locally grown limes.
